What About Camp?

Wild Tundra is a uniquely modern "leave no tracks" tent camp located on the Canadian Tundra at Ferguson Lake, Nunavut Territory.

Our guests will stay in high-end 6 person, 9 ft. x 12 ft. standup cabin tents with an awning, or 4 person, 4 season tents by Mountain Hardware. The number of guests in your party will dictate accommodations.

While other waterproof tents will easily become hot and humid inside making them damp and very uncomfortable your tent is water tight and breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess.

For your sleeping comfort Wild Tundra provides thick foam mattresses and comfy pillows.

If you prefer a cot, please feel free to request one.

Hot showers, 'eco' soaps & shampoos are made available but feel free to bring your own if preferred, 'eco' only please.

The best in modern composting toilets, not a hole in the ground.

4 person jacuzzi with wine bar, nice anytime, but very cool for northern lights watching.

Hi-speed satcom, for your phone calls, photography & other file transfers.

4 person sauna, "good for the body, good for the mind". A great way to wind down a day.

For your fishing/boating pleasure, Lund Watercraft with 40hp motors or 'Old Town' canoes.

eco-logical principles

For Wild Tundra the 'subject' is not about longwinded down speak or who's right or wrong, it's about extending the same respect we hold for each other to our land, it's waters and it's creatures. After all, it would be a lonely world without them! While walking this land, enjoying it's waters and encountering wildlife, we request that you be guided by this principle. Food for Thought…and a finger in every pie!

All meals are included with your stay at Wild Tundra. Fresh air whets the appetite and our kitchen is well prepared and equipped to satisfy it with fresh, wholesome foods. Your recipes are welcomed and if you want to pitch in and help, please free. At minimum you'll have lots of laughs and a fabulous meal. An "open table" of fruit, breads, preserves and other snacks is complimentary. Packed lunches are provided when necessary and one afternoon weather permitting, we'll prepare a fresh fish shore lunch for all who wish to join. It'll be a terrific meal and a wonderful photo opportunity.


Dietary Considerations

Being diabetic myself, 'Wild Tundra' is very sensitive to the dietary needs of others. There is space on the registration form to provide your 'special' dietary needs. If you're vegetarian we'll do our very best to accommodate but would appreciate your input regarding preferred foods.

Alcohol

Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol/beer for their stay. We'll do our best to keep ice available.
